Stones v Messi.

In the run up to Wednesday’s Champions League clash between Manchester City and Barcelona, John Stones, the City defender, said “it will be great to come face to face with the likes of Messi. It doesn’t scare me. For me, Messi is easily the best player in the world. He’s one of a kind and I’ll be looking forward to that challenge.”

So often we shy away from the big challenges and crave the easier options. But a winner is one who relishes the big tests, who looks forward to locking horns with the best. The point is not to admire Stones’ attitude but to emulate it. To live it. In every nook and cranny of our lives.
