Observations & meditations on the day-to-day

Find time to go! William Blake @ The Tate.

Whatever else you may be planning to do over the course of the next few months, find time to go and see the Blake exhibition at the Tate.

Because here you will see realised the dreams we have all had somewhere in the profound recesses of our souls – but were unable even remotely to express.

Because here you will encounter the forces that stir deep within us, forces we need to love and yoke and leverage if we are to do what we are here to do as human beings.

If you want to know how much energy, force and focus it takes to manifest a dream, go take a look at Elohim Creating Adam.

If you want to know how much plain brute strength is a precondition to having compassion, go take a look at Pity.

If you want to know what it is to embody both the heaviness of the earth and the otherworldly energy of heaven, go take a look at Angel Rolling Away the Stone.

If ever there was an exhibition that gives the lie to the flowers and light school of new-age spiritualism, this is it. This is muscular Divinity.
